Studio W’s faculty is made up of experienced, passionate instructors dedicated to inspiring dancers of all levels. With backgrounds in styles from ballet to hip hop, our team brings industry knowledge, creative energy, and a deep commitment to each student’s growth—both as dancers and as individuals.

Lowery Walker
Owner and Operator

Lowery is a native Wimberley resident and a graduate of Wimberley High School. She joined the Navy after graduating as part of the Nuclear Propulsion Program. After leaving the military, she moved to Savannah, GA with her husband who was stationed there while in the Army. They moved back to their hometown of Wimberley after Lowery’s husband retired, to raise their three children, Jesse, Lynzee and Ryann.
Lowery participated in dance and cheer as a youth, and her love of dance continued through her fourteen years as a competitive dance mom. Her passion led her to learn more about the world of competitive dance and over time, she became a consultant to dance teams on everything from choreography and team building to makeup and costumes.
Lowery brings an extensive knowledge of competition dance as well as the compassion of coaching dancers after being a parent within the dance world. With these skills she works with the team of instructors and the dancers so that the studio succeeds. Equally important is her ability and heart to see and encourage the very best in our dancers, and to relate and support them as they strive to reach their dance goals and their life goals

Madeline McNew
Coach of the WJH Starlettes
Instructor
Madeline is originally from the DFW area where she began dancing and competing at a local dance studio under the direction of Angela McGarity. Madeline studied styles such as ballet/pointe, jazz, tap, and contemporary for over ten years, as well as taking part in multiple North Central Ballet Theatre productions. Soon after, she joined the Fossil Ridge High School Sun Dancers where she served as the captain of her dance team. During her time at FRHS she was proud to take part in performance opportunities such as the Cotton Bowl. To further express her love for the arts, she was a proud member of her Varsity Choir and a dance captain in the Musical Theatre Department.
After high school, she was accepted into Texas State University, where she pursued a BFA in Dance with a concentration in Dance Education under the guidance of esteem instructors Ana Baer, Kaysie Seitz Brown, Brandon Gonzalez, Lynzy Lab, Amanda McCorkle, LeAnne Smith, and our very own Nicole Wesley. While at Texas State, she was a Line Captain of The World-Famous Texas State Strutters, and later a member of their Pom Squad, a member of the Orchesis Dance Company, and later President of DanceWorks. Her time here allowed her to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade, the TXST Faculty Convention, and more! She began her teaching career at Dancing Center Unlimited and is excited to continue to share her love and appreciation of dance here at Studio W Dance Collective!

Alanna Bouvier
Assistant Coach of the WHS Texan Stars
Instructor
Alanna grew up in the DFW area whose journey began at the age of 5 under the guidance of directors like Afton Fox-Beadles, Carrie Sellars, Kelle Fraser, and Kristy Cole. As captain of the Rowlett High School drill team and with thirteen years of experience at a private dance studio, she garnered numerous awards including National Champion titles. Alanna was also able to perform at iconic events such as the Dallas Cowboys halftime show and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, as well as guest appearances in pre-shows for the Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks.
After her high school career, she attended Texas State University and graduated with a degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. During her time in college she participated in a student organization, DanceWorks, where she served as Vice President her senior year. She also became a dance instructor at studios such as Dancing Center Unlimited II, San Marcos Dance Studio, and of course at Wimberley Dance Elite (now Studio W). Her story is a thrilling blend of artistry, leadership, and an unwavering dedication to the world of dance. She is so excited to be able to showcase her knowledge and her love of dance with her students.

Dr. Leslie Maxwell
Ballet Instructor
Dr. Leslie Maxwell is a co-owner of Maximum Wellness Chiropractic, a doctor of chiropractic, a wife and mother of four beautiful daughters. From an early age, Dr. Leslie developed a passion for dance, the performing arts and the benefits associated with living a healthy life. Raised in Friendswood, Texas, she grew up inspired by the works at Houston Ballet, studying the techniques of the Royal Academy of Dance ballet method. She is a proud graduate of Friendswood High School, where she had the privilege of dancing as a Friendswood Wranglerette, serving as a senior dance officer, and performing as a member of the Mighty Mustang Band. Her lifetime of dance lessons, performances and competitions ultimately led her to Kilgore College where she performed as a Rangerette, a member of the 63rd line (2002-2004) and Swingster. Her highlights in performance included Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Indianapolis 500 and the Target Jingle Elf Parade in Chicago.
Dr. Leslie completed dual degrees at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a Bachelor of Art in Theatre and Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While at UT Austin she was a member of the student-led dance company, STEEL and taught at 620 Dance Centre in Austin, Texas. During the course of her undergraduate and graduate studies, she spent eight years with ShowTime International Dance & Drill Team, serving as judging staff, head judge, tabulator, and competition administrator. In 2015, she had the pleasure of returning to University of Texas as adjunct lecturer for the Theatre and Dance department, educating the dance majors on their bodies with a course, Experiential Anatomy.
Dr. Leslie also holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Biology and a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College. During graduate school, she met her spouse, Tony, while also teaching multiple levels and classes at Dancescape by Joyce in Pearland, Texas.
She has been a guest speaker multiple times at the Texas Dance Educators Association, helping other educators grow their knowledge on common injuries & conditions associated with dance and drill teams. As a clinician and educator, Dr. Leslie emphasizes proper biomechanics to improve technique & mobility, reduce risk of injury and enhance a dancer’s performance.
She and her family make their home in Wimberley, Texas.

Aubrey Hurless
Certified Acro Dance Instructor
Aubrey was born and raised in Allen, Texas. She has danced at the Allen Dance Studio since second grade and has based her life around dance ever since. She spent two years with the performance company where she had the opportunity to perform at several college basketball games and two minor league baseball games. Aubrey also spent four years on the competitive company where she competed at countless competitions and attended conventions like Nuvo, Jump, and NYCDA. During her junior and senior years, Aubrey attended John Paul II High School and was a member of their dance/drill team the Cardinal Belles. While Aubrey was on the Belles, they won regional, state, and national championship titles both years. While a senior, Aubrey also served as a Social Officer and was a valuable leader within the Belles.
Aubrey credits dance with teaching her how to be confident in herself and she looks forward to passing this skill onto her students.

Lynzee Walker
Instructor
Lynzee Walker has been a competitive dancer since the young age of 4, honing her craft across a variety of styles including jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, lyrical, pom, and musical theater. Her passion for dance has taken her across the country, training and performing in cities such as Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Orlando. Lynzee also served as Captain of the WHS Texan Stars for the '22-'23 season.
Lynzee is a proud alumna of the World-Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes, where she had the honor of performing in prestigious events such as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Radio City Music Hall, the Pearl Harbor Veterans' Memorial Parade, and the London New Year's Day Parade. During her time at Kilgore, she was also a member of Industry Dance Company, the college’s elite modern performance company.
Currently, Lynzee is completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and Education, with a minor in Kinesiology, at Texas State University. Her academic focus deepens her understanding of movement, pedagogy, and physical wellness, which she brings into both her personal practice and her teaching.
As a dance instructor, Lynzee is passionate about inspiring the next generation of dancers. She continues to push boundaries both on stage and in the studio, driven by a deep love for the art form and an unwavering dedication to excellence.

Angela Altmeyer
Adult Program Instructor
Angela began dancing at the age of two at a small dance studio in Guam. When she moved back stateside, she continued her dance education at Betty Jack's School of Dance, Fredrick Maryland Regional Ballet Company, Ballet Austin and January's Academy of Arts, but her dance home was always the Wimberley Dance Studio.
After five years as a dancer at WDS, Angela began her teaching career at the age of sixteen, and worked and danced at the Wimberley Dance Studio for ten more years. During this time, she graduated from Wimberley High School and got her Bachelors of Fine Arts at Southwest Texas State University (Texas State University), focusing in metallurgy, art history and, of course, dance. Angela has also worked at Jackie's Performing Arts school in Austin and the Jadco Dance Company in Charleston, West Virginia, where she was also a principal dancer.
Angela is excited to bring her knowledge and enthusiasm for dance to our Adult Program at Studio W Dance Collective.

Addyson Hoffman
Instructor
Addyson is from West Texas but relocated to Wimberley with her family in 2017. This is when she first discovered her passion for dance. She took her first dance class at the age of 4 and has been a dedicated dancer at Wimberley Dance Elite for the past 8 years and will be starting her third year as a teacher. Addy is also the Captain of the WHS Texan Stars for the '25-'26 season.
Over the years, Addyson has explored various dance genres but her heart belongs to hip hop and contemporary styles. She is thrilled at the opportunity to work with the talented dancers at the studio. Addyson is eager to share her love for dance and contribute to the vibrate dance community here in Wimberley.

Mary Jane Gomersall
Guest Instructor
Mary Jane was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. In her childhood and adolescence years she studied
dance at Kitty Carter’s Dance Factory. After graduating Texas Tech University with a B.A. in dance, she performed as a soloist and danced in several classical, contemporary, and jazz ballets, operas, and musicals with several different companies including: Royal Caribbean Productions, the Fort Worth Opera (La Traviata & Carmen), the Willis Ballet in conjunction with the St. Petersburg Classic Ballet Theatre of Marina Medvetskaya, Eclipse Entertainment, Company Mayes, FTA Productions, Commedia Ballet Theatre, and Votum Dance Company. She has also appeared in an episode of Prison Break and a JC Penny industrial video.
Throughout her dance career, Mary Jane has completed six teacher’s congresses in the Teaching Method of Classical Ballet (Vaganova). She has been passing along her knowledge of dance while teaching ballet, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and jazz to students of all ages for twenty five years in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Dylan Steele
Guest Instructor
Dylan was born in Austin, Texas and moved to Wimberley when she was 5 years old. She began her dance journey at Wimberley Dance Elite when she was 9, and competed with the competitive team for five years. She has been a student here for the past eight years and a staff member for 2. She is trained in various styles of dance, but her favorites are Jazz, Acro, and Hip Hop. She was also the Captain for the WHS Texan Stars dance team for the '24-'25 season.
Outside of dance, she is a graduate of Wimberley High School, participating in National Honor Society, Yearbook Club, and PALS. Dylan loves being a leader and role model for young dancers and students and she is super excited to start another year of teaching and sharing her passion of performance with her students.

Sarai Herrera
Guest Instructor
Sarai was born in Austin, Texas but has lived in Wimberley her entire life. She is a graduate of Wimberley High School and is currently a student at Grand Canyon University. Sarai has been dancing since the third grade, but has been attending Wimberley Dance Elite since they have opened in her fifth grade year and she served as the Captain of the WHS Texan Stars for the '23-'24 season. Sarai has studied many styles of dance including ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hiphop, tap, and many more.
Sarai loves to visit her very large family; she loves to cook, dance, sing, play games, and watch movies. Sarai loves dance and hopes to inspire your children's love for dance as well. She is very excited to work at Studio W Dance Collective.
